For all my readers, I'm sure this is hardly a surprise. ;)

Oh, and I just could not pick one quote - when it comes to this book - even if I wanted to :P

My pick is Jellicoe Road By Melina Marchetta. Many of you probably know by now - since I go on about it so much - but this book is my all time favourite. Every time I go through some quotes I get all mushy and sad. And I miss them all over again. Jonah girls, now he is something. I hope you all get to read it at some point. It is a beautiful book.

“He is the most beautiful creature I have ever seen and it's not about his face, but the life force I can see in him. It's the smile and the pure promise of everything he has to offer. Like he's saying, 'Here I am world, are you ready for so much passion and beauty and goodness and love and every other word that should be in the dictionary under the word life?' Except this boy is dead, and the unnaturalness of it makes me want to pull my hair out with Tate and Narnie and Fitz and Jude's grief all combined. It makes me want to yell at the God that I wish I didn't believe in. For hogging him all to himself. I want to say, 'You greedy God. Give him back. I needed him here.”

“Then he holds her and for a moment I hear total silence; that totally silent part of a cry that announces that the most horrible grief is going to follow. And it does, and he's muffling it, but I can hear and I want someone to come over and jab her with a sedative because its pitch pierces my soul.”

“Someone asked us later, "Didn't you wonder why no one came across you sooner?"
Did I wonder?
When you see your parents zipped up in black body bags on the Jellicoe Road like they're some kind of garbage, don't you know?
Wonder dies.”

“Hold my hand,” she said, sobbing against him. “Hold my hand because I might disappear.”

“So, like I asked, what’s with the nightie?”
“It smells like what I always think mothers smell like,” I tell him honestly, knowing I don’t have to explain.
He nods. “My mum has one just the same and you have no idea how disturbing it is that it’s turning me on.”

“When it was over, she gathered him in her arms. And told him the terrible irony of her life. That she had wanted to be dead all those years while her brother had been alive. That had been her sin.
And this was her penance.
Wanting to live when everyone else seemed dead.”

Since Chris has been in my head for sometime now, it only felt right to make my next "Friday's Finest" post on the book. =)

INTO THE WILD By Jon Krakauer

I read somewhere... how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong, but to feel strong... to measure yourself at least once

Some people feel like they don't deserve love. They walk away quietly into empty spaces, trying to close the gaps of the past

What if I were smiling and running into your arms? Would you see then what I see now?

It's the first quote that hits a nerve. Maybe it's because of the way Emile Hirsch says it in the trailer. OR maybe it's because Chris really seemed to believe in those words. Either way.. is it really about how strong you feel and not how strong you are? I think in some instances yes and in others no. The fact that he really believed in it though and then acted on it, shows a lot of heart. Watch the trailer HERE -- I get goosebumps everytime I watch it. Which I have been doing a lot lately - replaying it over and over again. Wanting to experience the movie but not quite brave enough for the full thing. *sighs*

Wow it sure has been a while HUH! I missed this Meme tremendously, feels so good taking part ;)

Hold Still By Nina Lacour

"The sun stopped shining for me is all. The whole story is: I am sad. I am sad all the time and the sadness is so heavy that I can't get away from it. Not ever."
"My best friend is dead, and I could have saved her. It’s so wrong so completely and painfully wrong, that I walked through my front door tonight smiling."

Oh wow, I knew that it was supposed to be heavy, but I never imagined it to be that heavy. She sounds so disturbed, so full of guilt. It's sad, and I haven't even read the book yet. I have heard lovely things about it though, and I know Audrey is a fan! So I know I must read this soon. My TBR pile is just huge though right now gah!

So since it’s been a while that I have participated I thought it was about time already!! I thought I would pick what I am currently literally re-reading right now. I am not one to re-read a book unless it has been a long time since I last read it or if it was so super super super awesome that I couldn’t help myself, in this case it is both. I just started it so my review will probably be up sometime tomorrow since it’s on they lengthy side,

I'm picking two quotes for this one.

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

"I place my hands over her ears and tip her head back, and kiss her, and try to put my heart into hers, for safekeeping, in case I lose it again."

"I won't ever leave you, even though you're always leaving me."

Henry and Clare share what I can only describe as Love. Pure and simple. Her patience and strength alongside his determination to find her over and over again is proof of that. The Time Traveler's Wife is probably a book that hasn’t entered my mind for some reason for such a long time. As soon as you reach the first page, you will come to the conclusion that you have come across something quite spectacular. It deserves all the credit it gets because this novel is definitely one of a kind.

Love You Hate You Miss You Elizabeth Scott

Quote - "The thing is, that world doesn't exist. All growing up means is that your realize no one will come along to fix things. No one will come along to save you."

Love You Hate You Miss You was the first novel By Elizabeth Scott that I came across. When I read the synopsis I just knew that this book was for me. I always find it interesting to read books based on friendships and this one was amazing.

Book: PS I love You
By: Cecilia Ahern

Quote:

"Finding someone you love and who loves you back is a wonderful, wonderful feeling. But finding a true soul mate is an even better feeling. A soul mate is someone who understands you like no other, loves you like no other, will be there for you forever, no matter what. They say that nothing lasts forever, but I am a firm believer in the fact that for some, love lives on even after we're gone."

I remember reading this books so very clearly. I stayed up until 4am confused at all the emotions I was feeling. I would be crying and laughing at the same time. I even ended up waking my brother because I was laughing so hard. I recall exactly eleven notes that he wrote to Holly. I remember because I wrote each down in my Diary =)
