Note; I fought long and hard to get a hold of this book. Little ole me waited months for this to come in! I felt slightly insane from all the waiting actually. Not only was it something I had NEVER done before *the waiting part* but I was getting increasingly patient as the reviews started kicking i o practically every blog that I love. Saying how much the LOVED it! *cries* but hey! The waiting paid off! I read the excerpt and fell in love with this book. Okay and maybe a little with Alex :D I got the call three days ago that it had arrived.... with my name on it! You don't have to tell me twice!

My thoughts - I have always told myself that I cannot stand bad boys, so why - when Alex was introduced was I there sighing and smiling to myself like crazy. I'll tell you why. It’s because this guy rocking the Bandanna who oozes the word REBEL, and is a full on bad boy is not only caring but sensitive which of course makes him absolutely swoon worthy!

I feel a little guilty saying this

But oh how I wish he was real. If he was, I wouldn't care if he knew just how gorgeous he was, I wouldn't care that he might not be very pleasant to me at first.

Or so I tell myself. Alex? He is lovely to read about, that's for sure!

You then have Barbie -- Brittany. She is beautiful, with long blond hair to match that button nose of hers and lean figure. She's pretty perfect on the outside, anyone can see that. And hey, she's a bit of a bitch which completes the popular, perfect - pretty girl image we love to hate, but alas, what a lot of people don't know is that she has an older sister named Shelley with severe Cerebral Palsy that she is fiercely protective of. Things take a strange turn once Shelly is introduced. We see a very different side of Brittany. A loving and vulnerable side who loves her sister dearly. Whose mother is constant grooming her into looking perfect -- every. Single. Day. This Has lead her to be the way she is. Sadly all that her mother seems to care about is Brittany's appearance. if you look deeper into the situation it becomes apparent that her mother strives for Britney to be pure perfection because of her sisters so called "imperfections". I found this terribly sad. That a mother has gotten so caught up on the outside of their image, of what others think; that she has lost her daughter. The family is in pieces really.

And then Alex Fuentes comes along.

He's from a completely different social circle, from the other part of town. He is everything she hates. He's; dangerous, cocky, arrogant, but most of all in a well known gang. Everyone knows to keep well away from him, but what if Brittany is sick and tired of doing what everyone expects of her? Could this be her time to break free, to finally be herself?

Alex and Brittany are so alike in some ways. Both are determined, vulnerable and have been through a lot in life. They also have become accustomed to showcasing this facade, this outer shell and image in public to avoid being hurt and taken advantage of. They have become so used to being someone else, of what those around them expect them to be like that they have both lost themselves a little. So, when Alex and Brittany are paired up in class she finds herself having a very different reaction to his snide, witty and laugh out loud hilarious -- if not a little rude remarks than expected. And strangely enough, Alex can't seem to stop thinking about her. Two people who couldn't be more different are brought together by something they just can't ignore any longer. CHEMISTRY!

Things I loved - Zomg!

  • There's some actual depth to Brittany and Alex. Simone could have done the typical thing and headed full in into the romance, but she took her time, and built up their characters, gave them a voice, and a reason. Brittany is stuck up at first just as much Alex is arrogant, but there is more to them than that. They're life, shall we say, is far from perfect.

  • I didn't realise how chemistry could bounce of the pages and make you blush like crazy until I experienced theirs. When they connect it's amazing. The vibe/connection they have is ridiculously intense, urgent and breathtaking, but is blended in with the angst, tender moments, and not so perfect moments that every other couple out there faces. It gives what they have a much more realistic feel.

  • Simone Elkeles made me fall in love all over again with bad boys, but made me realise at the same time that they don't necessarily have to be overly mean, creepy and disturbing to be classed as a bad boys. A bad boy can be sweet, caring, loving and considerate. Thanks for that Simone!

  • I absolutely devoured this book in no time at all, in fact, It was just cruel how after finishing it I was left aching. Missing their story and most of all wanting my Alex back! *cries -- mourns -- sulks*

  • THE Spanish!! Omg like was I the only one who found it utter hotness when he spoke Spanish? He makes me want to learn the language purely because of his sweet ways with those words *sighs*

Things I didn't love so much- Nayyyy

  • I'm thinking, hold up.

  • Hmmm

  • Erm..?

  • It ended! Why did you have to end PC, WHY! *cries -- mourns -- sulks*
