My Thoughts - Digging in with the knowledge that Ivy Devlin was in-fact one of my favourite authors made me quite curious. Low Red Moon didn't even come close to what she had written in the past. She did fairly well considering that I suppose, I just wish that she could have been a little more original.

Avery Hood can hardly remember that night. The night her parents decapitated pieces lay next her as she tried to put them back together again, she remembers blood, lots of it, that is all though. What happened that night is hazy for some reason, and because of this people start to question her part in this brutal murder.

Now when she goes back to school no one will even look at her. Where she lives being different is bound to make you an outcast, it doesn't bother her much though as she has always preferred being alone.

What does bother her is her not being able to remember that night. I asked myself a few things shortly after. Has she created a mental barrier? Is she not allowing herself not to remember to protect herself. Is she in denial? Or is she so traumatised that the events have left her altogether? I think I was close enough.

As I read along I got this sudden Deja Vu. Shiver I realised was the book that came to mind, this was not good. I hadn't even finished the book. I dreaded the same happening with this one. Thankfully this wasn't the case as Low ReD Moon although not exactly jaw dropping was engaging and flowed decently enough.

The story covers how Avery is now adjusting to life without parents. She has to now stay with Grandma Renee who she hasn't gotten along with for years. Her father wasn't exactly the biggest fan of his mothers either. Although you notice Renee is trying to re-connect with her granddaughter it's obvious that Avery is just not interested. It's sad to see because both of them are hurting, but only one it would seem is making the effort to come together.

Avery isn't one to make friends until Krista approaches her. They have absolutely nothing in common, hardly hold a decent conversation, and most likely don't even like each other. Avery seems to let her stick around out of pity it would seem. Who says Krista is even capable of being a loyal-fake friend even though? As Avery is soon to find out Krista is the kind of girl that will do anything to get at the top of the social ladder.

Enters- Ben. He instantly catches her eyes and his incredible good looks it would seem make her a little weak in the knees. What she notices first of all though are his Silver eyes. So, I kind of scoffed at that. Come on silver eyes?? They tend to clash though when some things don't quite add up and trail right back to him. With Avery still mourning her parents and Ben still suffering from his own fair share of losses- its just a matter of time before the both of them click or completely clash.

As you might have guessed he is the potential love interest. There wasn't anything swoon-worthy about Ben or even likable really in my opinion. He kind of fell flat for me, and Avery didn't do much for me either.  I think it was the fast pace of the book that saved it for me, Elizabeth Scott knows how to write, that's for sure.

Just to let some of you know -  it does get quite hot and heavy here and there. She did also have the tendency to go on and on about how much she wanted him and how much she knew -enters cheesy line- by looking into his eyes that he wanted her. Blah. Girl chill. She wanted to ravish him basically when she didn't even know if she could trust the boy! I find that kind of off-putting really. What they have is more based on lust then actual love. It's the sexual chemistry between the two that is more focused on rather if they actually have genuine feelings for each other, and that did make their relationship feel kind of empty and lacking. I had to be patient with them, and hear Avery out to convince myself that they were even right for each other. In my opinion it's just pure on lust, I can't see their relationship going anywhere long-term. Of course in the Paranormal world anything is possible :)

When you start Low Red Moon it can be slightly disheartening. Sounding all to much like many other Werewolves/Vampire books out there. With the knowledge that the author is Elizabeth Scott I have to say that I expected a lot, lot more of her. However, it's not until your a few pages in that you realise that the author being as awesome as she is has managed to hold her own in the best way she could. I hardly knew that I was flipping through the pages, had it been slow it might have completely disheartened me, so I'm glad that this was not the case. If you love your Paranormal then you'll enjoy this.
