Lets Discuss: Blogs and Bloggers.

pages to get into the book. Everything before all that is confusing and slow. But if you can bring yourself to trudge through those first 100 pages guys, then you will delve into heck of a treasure.

This is exactly what I don't want to go through your head.

Because I want you to say it like it is, and I want no regrets from you: no what if's.

And this is why...

Oh yes, we are the shizz: you and I. No doubt.

But my question for today is...

What do you look for in a book blogger and blog?

Are the two things even all that different, and don't they come together as one?

I think this is something that we should talk about. Maybe because so many have so much to say on what makes a good blog/blogger or not yet we hardly ever seem to discuss what we look for in one.

When I stumble across a blog I like a good layout. I'm just going to throw that in there because it's the truth. Something that catches my eye. It doesn't have to be beautiful because that's not what I mean, but something that you can see has been put well together with some decent effort at least. Let's face it. Presentation/your words/content is what represents a blogger best. Then almost every time I head for the reviews. Do we have similar taste? Because this is a big factor for me. If I spot a few books that I enjoyed/LOVED or have read in the past that seem to be on your TBR list then I get the gist that we like similar books and genres. At this point I'm really warming to your blog if I like what I see and from there I'll try to get a feel of you as a person. A big thing is personality. Being; Snarky, funny, witty are traits that really do shine through in your reviews and posts, and are ones that I look forward to if done right. Then there are things I will instantly pick up on. Are you holding back, do you seem genuine in your reviews, and are you honest and approachable?

I'm not a big follower because I like to take my time with a blogger and their blog. If feel like I have gotten a good feel for someone and like what I see in the long term then no doubt I'll click that follow button and keep up to date. Recently though, I've had cases where I have come across a blog, read a review or two and knew straight away that I had to follow them and keep updated with their content, but for the most part I like taking my time. And that might just mean that I've been a reader of your blog for a month or two before I actually decide to follow you. These are the kind of things you should be open to.

Everyone obviously looks for different things, and for me personally warming to the blogger and the blog itself is very important. I think the blogger itself comes first for me because they might write the most amazing reviews but if they come across the wrong way and I can't warm to them then I'm just not going to stick around. I've noticed that a lot of the bloggers that I follow speak their mind, and do actually read similar book to me. I guess you gravitate to those who you just click with :) Make no mistake though. This doesn't mean that I think I'm perfect or on the ball: far from it actually, but I think this topic is almost something we like to keep to ourselves and I really don't know why. For this very reason I had an urge to discuss this.

So, is there anything in particular you look for in a blog and a blogger, and is one more important than the other for you?
