My Thoughts - After Landon is caught during a prank gone horribly wrong he has to take part in extra activities after school as punishment. In this case the after school Drama club which a girl called Jamie is a part of. Jamie is a lovely girl, quiet, friendly, trusting, shy and completely naive. The two with time start to get on although they come from completely different circles. In fact, Landon's friends make fun of Jamie and have done a lot in the past but Landon has always stood and watched by, but it's when the two seem to get along that Jamie starts to become hurt at him just being a bystander to it all. That soon starts to change though. With a touching friendship on the verge of blossoming into something much more London must decide if he should go with instinct or follow his heart. He has always people a people pleaser, especially when it comes to sticking with the "cool gang" and interfering with the way they treat Jamie could mess it all up. You see Landon change a lot though as well as mature.
She's a loner really, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all. She's been sheltered a lot in life by her religious father and is a big on being a daddy's girl, but it's only when she meets Landon does she start to really grow into her own. A walk to remember is a fantastic movie, and I think what makes it so great, above all else is the wonderful chemistry the on screen couple share. It's there and completely undeniable. At times it was so apparent that I wondered if they had had a thing off screen. I wouldn't be surprised if they had.
This is more than just a girl meets guy story. There's a big secret that's being hidden and a shocking revelation towards the end that was hard to accept although I knew of it beforehand due to reading the book. I would recommend all to give this movie a go. It's not one that you're likely to forget anytime soon. It's sweet, touching and the characters completely lovable.
